Evelyn took to Instagram to share her “terrible day” and the unexpected chaos that followed.
“Yesterday I had a terrible day. I was denied boarding because of a small tear in my passport,” she explained.
In a series of posts, she recounted the stressful ordeal.
“Poor Duncan had to drive me around town all morning,” said Evelyn, in what we could only imagine was a race to get another passport.

On a mission to take new passport photos, which obviously need to be approved, it looks like the Season 10 bride wasn’t having much luck.
“I got my photos taken at office jobs, but apparently it wasn’t good enough…” she captioned the portraits.
“Five locations later and two passport reshoots, you can see I’m over it 😂,” Evelyn couldn’t help but laugh at the situation.

Of course, she also has Duncan to thank, who appears to have saved the day.
“God bless this man! He intervenes when I can no longer put sentences together 💕😅.
Later, with a well-deserved beer and a selfie at the airport, Evelyn was able to confirm that she was finally on her way.
Evelyn isn’t the first TV star to have been denied a flight recently.
Last week, Season 7’s fiancé Mikey Pembroke was refused to board a plane, this time because of a small stain on his passport.
While it may come as a shock to many, the Australian Passport Office warns passport holders that “even minor damage or alterations may void your passport and prevent you from traveling”.

What can invalidate a passport?
According to the government office, it is important that there is no:
- changed or missing pages
- tears or cuts
- marks, stains or discoloration
- souvenir stamps, written marks or lines
The expiration date is another factor that can affect the validity of a passport. Although it seems obvious, many countries will not allow you to enter if your passport expires in six months or less, so it’s not just the printed expiration date that’s important.
Many frequent travelers may have many stamps on their passport pages. Some countries do not allow entry unless you have at least two to four blank pages in your passport.
Any unauthorized stamps, such as souvenir stamps, may also invalidate your passport.
Unfortunately, some travelers fall victim to fraud. The Australian Passport Office emphasizes that if you need to renew or apply for a new passport, you should only do so through the official government website.
