From the beginning, Scott Cam emphasized how important it is for teams to stay on top of their finances.
With the most expensive part of the renovations – the landscaping – starting now, the host admits that around $100,000 is needed for a real showstopper.

So where do the Blockheads’ finances currently stand?
Happily, The blockJo’s financial manager has been following the teams’ every financial move on Xero.
In the video above, Jo revealed her number one team for staying on top of her finances.
She also awarded them a very special prize: two huge Xero gold medals and a whopping $10,000 in cash!
EXCLUSIVE WATCH: Kristian and Mimi are honest about their fall from competition
“Scotty, it was neck and neck. Two teams paid all the bills and carried all the invoices,” Jo announced.
However, one of these teams pulled off a sneaky move that won them the 2024 Xero Hero Award.
Find out who in the video above!
This gives the winning team an extra $10,000 towards their landscaping budgets. Let’s see how each team is tracking below.
Lock teams’ current budgets
Maddy and Charlotte from House 1: $75,000 landscaping budget
The House 1 girls even arrested Ryan, Eliza and Liberty’s landscaper!
Courtney and Grant from House 2: $50,000 landscaping budget
With a starting budget of $40,000, House 2 can be thankful for its Room Reveal win last week. Plus, the $10,000 worth of Freedom furniture each team received will make a nice gift!
Ricky and Haydn from House 3: $115,000 landscaping budget
The boys have the biggest budget of any team and have allocated $60,000 to the backs and the rest to the fronts.
This huge amount of money was thanks to the $50,000 they won during the Domain Listing and Buyer Jury challenge.
Kylie and Brad from House 4: $89,000 landscaping budget
The team is splitting everything with $37,000 budgeted for each front and back yard. We think it helps them to have the smallest yard The Block.
Kristian and Mimi from House 5: $59,000 landscaping budget
Kristian and Mimi hope to dedicate 90% of their budget to the back. Possibly because they have the biggest yard this week!
Going into Backyard and Pool Week, Scotty suggested that teams needed to set aside at least $74,000 in their CommBank accounts, which is still pretty tight.
In the past, winning landscapes have been worth more than $100,000.
